Halifax Radio Control Club / Beaver Bank Flyers
Jan 25th, 2024 at 6:14pm

There are some area flyers who have been considering bringing back the field formerly the home of the Halifax Radio Control Club.  There has been so much interest that a work party took place Saturday the 20th of January.

Another work party is planned for this Saturday the 27th of January 2024.

To make it easier to find, here are some links that may be of interest.

https://beaverbankflyers.freeforums.net/

is the link to the clubs online forum.  There are pictures and links to what has been done and further directions.

Here are some links to Google street views.  The first shows the entrance.

And looking up the hill of the lane heading to the field, you can see the sign of HRCC.

It is good for all flyers that another field may be available this coming season.  The field will be closer for some and farther away for others, but it will be a new experience to fly there.  Some flyers will apppreciate the paved runway, which means less grass to mow and more time to fly.

Have a look.  It will be another asset.  It may bring back some flyers who have been away from flying.  I look forward to seeing people again this summer at the various fields around the province.

Possible Reactivation of the HRCC Field

To those who are not aware, there is continuing discussion about reactivating the flying field in Beaver Bank that used to be the Halifax Radio Control Club.  The link to where information can be found is...

Having another field provides more variety and experiences for flyers.  It may be farther away or closer than your current field.  But it becomes another resource for model flyers from all over the province.  It encourages more participation.  It may rekindle a lagging interest in others.  Each field is unique in layout and surrounding terrain.  No one field attracts all flyers.  We each have our own preferences.  Some like the size and type of plane that are most common at one field or another.  Others like the surrounding attractions or views presented.  Others may like the total diversity found in the planes.  Some fields are suited for large flyins with lots of people and planes.  Other fields are more intimate and suited for small events.  So support your club field but be ready for other experiences wherever you find them.
