a visitor at our new field
Apr 27th, 2013 at 3:58pm

Willow and I walk frequently down the road (you can't really call it that) behind the tree line on the opposite side of the runway.  Every single day there are new signs and tracks of various critters populating the area.  Many many deer tracks, racoons, rabbits, and a porcupine or two.

Today there were signs of a rather large critter who went for a walk earlier this morning.  Wish i could have been there to see this one.

Can you say BEAR?

note Kyle's boot and my glove for some size comparison.

From the chronicle herald news on sunday morning......explains the footprints at the field Saturday.  lol

Wannabe robber hits Spryfield restaurant with bear spray

By The Chronicle Herald

A wannabe robber who didn’t get the money she demanded squirted bear spray in a Spryfield restaurant before fleeing on foot Saturday night.

Halifax police say they were called to 324 Herring Cove Rd. at about 11:20 p.m. after a suspect, described as young-looking white female wearing a mask, tried to rob the Hop Sing restaurant. When she demanded cash and didn’t get it, she “produced what is believed to be bear spray and released it within the restaurant prior to fleeing on foot,” police said in a news release Sunday morning.

Besides having her face covered, the suspect was also wearing a black hoodie and gloves, police say.

No sign of him since,  so he is indeed pretty "rare". Smiley
