I am interested in flying model rockets, and I was wondering if they are permitted on your airfield?

Based on my attending a couple of rocket events at shearwater and a quite intimate knowledge of the terrain around our field perimeter I don't think it'd be very practical at our field. It is very rough in some areas and with hay and corn fields in others finding and retrieval would be a concern.

I agree with Al that retrieving a rocket almost anywhere off the runway would be very difficult in most cases.

As well as the issues with the terrain there are also some houses fairly close by on one side and I don't think that a rocket landing in their yard would be much appreciated!

I'm not really sure where there would be a good site to fly rockets but I will see if I can find out.
