Post by C-GARL on Jan 19th, 2016 at 11:07pm
Good evening everyone,
I have stated a new project this winter. i am building another Gemini but this time 98" wingspan. it will have two e-flight power 25 motors X as well as electric retracts. i will have 60 amp ESC just in case i want to use 4S batteries.
here is the middle section of the wing. this one will be in 3 section so it can be easily transported.
more to come.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

:( Well, I was all set up to proceed for first flight with this little plane and out of the blue the rudder servos started doing free games and looked like a drunken sailor on too much ADHD drug on a cheap date with a blind prostitute.  :-? :o Servo replacement required and getting new one this evening. Hopefully the weather will change for the weekend and maiden time will happen.

Great description of a bad servo Alain.  I can almost visualize it.  Lol

Keep us up to date.

did the maiden this weekend and I must say the plan behaved as expected.
98" wingspan
72" long
split flaps
two power 25  of motor
two 60 Amps ESP
4S 5000 batteries, one per motor
3S 2200 for receiver and lights
landing lights
retracts from Hobby King. (I know it is not the best choice for budget was low)
since the retracts are from HK, I am considering removing the retracts and have a fix landing gear.
I would say the plane weight about 12-15 lbs. I will confirm later if I have a chance.

next flight will be used for final set up of the flaps

Sorry Al, that is the only one I have. we don't have a retired Al (French version that is) here to take all the nice pictures. someone else took a picture of me beside the plane but I did not receive anything but the one posted. Linette says you will have to come for a visit for a couple weeks every summer so you can take some nice pictures. I think it is because she likes you.  ;) :o ;D

Here the Gemini II all repaired from Margaree crash and with 12 great flights done and still flies great. I re-adjusted the flaps and now it lands great, main gear first and than about 10 feet later the front gear touch down.  :)

well, had to give this little puppy a new nose again. :( T tail is a bitch if not done light and solid. :-/ I will figure out a way on the next build. ;)

It sucks when putting full throttle and one motor quits at the same time.  :'( This happen during touch and go training for the royal Canadian Air Fart.  ;)

Looking good Alain!  I see you have flaps on that bird.

And you were flying in some awesome company!

Are you bringing it to Margaree?
