Title: aviation day at brookhouse school Post by one nano on May 30th, 2013 at 8:52pm
Rob Guildford and I have been putting on an aviation day for the students in Dianne Randall's grade two class at Brookhouse school in Dartmouth for the past few years. It's a really good time and Rob and I have a lot of fun doing this.
here in the first picture rob, using his dehavilland beaver as a prop, gives a basic talk on how airplanes fly. photo two: aerodynamics grade two style. the kids are always enthusiastic and in fact surprise you with how much they know about airplanes. |

as part of the afternoon we get the students (24 this year) to build a basic paper glider and then hold a contest in the gymnasium, the winners being the three who can get them to fly the furthest. we present a trophy Rob made up for first and a gliders and kites for second and third prizes. in addition all students get a small foam glider to take home.
a fun day for all! |
