Halifax Electric Flyers Association --Indoor Flying Session
On Sunday, March 20th, 2011, HEFA will occupy the entire 800,000 cubic foot "field house" of the new CANADA GAMES CENTER in Halifax, to conduct a 2 hour Indoor Flying session from 1PM until 3PM.  This new facility is larger than THREE full size NBA basketball courts and is a site to behold.  This is one of those events that probably will only happen once a year..!  MAAC membership is required to fly, so bring your current 2011 MAAC card with you.  The fee's are Adult $20.00 and Junior member (-18) $10.00
We invite all MAAC members to take advantage of this opportunity to fly in a humungous area, and look forward to seeing many friends from outside the metro area.  Here is a promo flyer that can be printed out and hung up as a reminder..!

The Saint John Model Flying Club will host its annual mall show at McAllister Place Mall in Saint John. The set up for the show will being Thursday evening, 24 March 2011 and the display will be in full swing Friday and Saturday, 25/26 March 2011.

The Wings of Wellington is very pleased to once again be hosting the Valley Gathering. What was once an education focused event has now expanded to include a swap shop and day of indoor flying with Demo pilots on hand.
Colin Bell, professional RC helicopter pilot for Curtis Youngblood Enterprises, will be on hand to both teaching and fly. Speakers on a variety of RC related topics will give interested attendees a chance to mix some flying and learning on the same day.
Also – as a record attempt,let’s see if we can get more 2.4 GHZ aircraft in the air at one time then those folks in Moncton in February. :) - Flying Hours: 9 AM to 4 PM. - Swap Shop Hours: 9 AM - 11 PM  The Facility -The Kentville Sports center (indoor Soccer Arena) is the ideal spot to spread your electric wings, sit back and watch, or drop into a classroom to expand your RC horizons. - Swap shop tables to trade and sell R/C gear are included in your entrance fee (bring your own table please!).
- Open to all MAAC members. - Special events – Obstacle courses, Spot Landings, Balloon Busting, AND, be the first pilot since 1970 to land aboard the Aircraft Carrier HMCS Bonaventure! - What can be flown: Indoor electric airfcraft (foamies and smaller), 450-size electric helicopters and smaller. - Winter Weather: We are hoping to be well past winter weather by April 9th. This S/A clinic will be held at the Durham field. It is intended for those who have never flown S/A before. It will focus on the fundamentals of scale aerobatic/IMAC style flying...mainly airframe setup and judging. Attendance is highly recommended as it will give you a great head start and a good knowledge base with which to learn and improve upon. Experienced instructors will be on hand to help with your airplane, guide you through the basic sequence and answer any questions you may have. Their will be no admission fee and it will run until every student is satisfied. Rain date on Sunday, May 29th.

IMAC CHALLENGE The Avon RC flyers are hosting a two day Scale Aerobatics Contest on June 25/26 2011. We are located on highway 14 on the Windsor Forks Rd, just before Ski Martock but on the opposite side at the Daniels U-pick apple orchard. All classes from basic to unlimited will be flown. July 16th and 17th once again taking place at the MAST field in Truro, (http://www3.ns.sympatico.ca/mast) this 2 day scale aerobatic contest will build upon last years event. As always, we welcome any and all pilots who want to come out and have a good time especially those who have never flown scale aerobatics before. The basic class is the perfect no-stress opportunity to have fun and get started in scale aerobatics. As always, any aircraft is eligible for basic even your trainer! All classes from Basic to Unlimited will be flown. Registration fee will be 10$ to help cover costs. Pilots must be at the field by 8:00 am and ready to fly at 9:00 am. A BBQ will be up and running for both days for any who are interested. Sound testing as per the 2009-2010 scale aerobatics competition regulations will be followed at CD's discretion.
