Annual Zone Meetings will be starting late September and will run through the month of October. Members are encouraged to check the list below for the date and location of their zone meeting and to attend for your opportunity to discuss zone and national issues and to contribute to the organization as desired. Notice can also be found on the web site and in the September issue of Model Aviation Canada. Only open members may vote at any MAAC member meeting.
There are some directors who will be stepping down this year and they have called for nominations from the members. Nominations must be made, seconded and have the nominee’s acceptance on a form that can be requested from the office office@maac.ca or your zone director. If you are interested or know of someone who is interested in serving as zone director the nomination form must be received 30 days prior to the zone meeting to be included in the meeting agenda. Nomination forms can be sent to the office and/or the current zone director.
This year we are asking those members who are considering a resolution or motion to be forwarded to the AGM to please write out their motion and rationale and submit the motion to their zone director. This request is being made so that the motion can be included on the meeting agenda and closed proxy forms for those members who can not attend in person but wish to exercise their vote on agenda items and motions. Motions do not need a mover and second to be placed on the agenda. Motions must also be received by your zone director 30 days in advance of the meeting.
Remember that YOU are MAAC. Only by participation and member engagement does the organization grow and have the ability to represent all modelers throughout the country.
