I traded my old scale BK 117 to a guy in the states for a raptor 50se fully modded for 3D, i shipped mine out today we have about 10 days to find out

you'll get it Greg....I've found modellers to be a pretty good bunch that way. I often ship plans prior to receiving payment and have never been stung by a modeler.

the government on the other hand will bite you when it comes across the border... :(

Did you end up paying any customs and GST? I believe they don't bother if the item is declared under $50 :-?

A few years ago I traded a plane with a gentleman in Ontario and the trade was for plane for plane in the box. Nothing else. Roughly 10 days later both Planes arrived. Now the best part :) upon opening my box which was to contain only a Edge 540 Arf and packed nicely in the corner in it's box was a Thunder Tiger 120 brand new. Sweet. Yes modelers are a special breed of animal. ;D
